Automated data processing agreements (DPA)

What is a data processor?

If you process personal data on behalf of other companies, you are most likely considered a data processor according to the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Since a data processor is only allowed to process and store data by the instruction of a data controller, the relationship between those parties must be clarified by a written agreement.

This agreement is called a data processing agreement (DPA) and must contain the instruction for managing data, including both purpose and scope. Furthermore, those agreements should retain information about sub-processors, transfer of data to third countries outside the EU, the procedures in case of a data breach, and much more.

Why should I automate my DPAs in Contractbook?

Despite the fact that DPA documents are long and complicated, they are also quite standardized as most of the clauses are mandatory and predefined.

That makes it a very obvious document to automate and save time for more important tasks.

Through integration between Typeform and Contractbook, you can automatically generate and collect data processing agreements from your customers or any other external party and afterward store all digitally signed agreements safely under your Contractbook platform.

How do automated data processing agreements work?

The end result will be a custom-tailored questionnaire that collects all necessary data from the respondent and automatically generates a standardized data processing agreement.

You have full control over the details and can choose to send already pre-signed DPAs to all recipients who have filled in the questionnaire.

Read our article about automated data collection to understand how the automation works, and get an overview of the most common use cases.

Here you can find a direct link to our own DPA and test the flow by requesting a signed agreement for your company.
